Catching Up

We wanted to create this blog to keep our friends and family updated on our busy and growing family. Thank you so much for being a part of our lives and we love you very much!

We had our 20 week ultrasound today and it was so amazing to see the baby!
We included a few photos. The baby has very long legs and the wide VanHorn feet. It is too cute. As far as our midwife could see, the baby is "normal" in all the areas she looked at and heart rate was 141 beats per minute. We are still waiting til delivery day to find out the sex! Our due date is October 13, 2010.

In other news, Kyle had his first bodybuilding competition on May 22 (Southern Colorado's all natural Armed Forces Competition). He did an amazing job in his posing and his performance. He won in the Novice heavyweight, Novice all-around, Open Heavyweight, Open all-around and was awarded Best Poser Overall. We were both very shocked each time they called his name. God played such a huge part in this journey and we are excited to see where this door leads to in the future! We have uploaded a couple pictures and will hopefully be able to attach a link to the professional ones as soon as they are up. Thank you to all the friends and family who came, it meant so much to us!

  2. I can't wait to meet my lil' niece/nephew...your due date just can't come soon enough!!!! And awesome job at the competition Kyle. I expected that at a competition like body building you would not be able to express humility and compete well at the same time... you did BOTH!!! You're a natural. Good Job.

Wonderful little company!

Yesterday I had the honor to watch Nathan. Nathan's parents are Matt and Sonya, friends from our small group at church. We had a blast all afternoon. Both the boys didn't take naps so I thought it was going to be a rough afternoon but I think they got energy from one another. I was nervous for dinner time too but they both did great. Both ate like champs...even ate their vegetables!  I put these two to work right away lol Busy building something great! We went outside for a bit. It was hard to keep these two together in the front so we headed out back! Nathan loved exploring! Showing me a sweet rock that he found! Jamin exploring too! Wondering where he should go next. There are so many things to see in our backyard  The boys looking at the rocks and weeds lol Nathan showing Jamin the treasure (weed) that he found! We played on the swings for a while too. One would be in this swing while I held the other in the other swing! (Sorry my...

I couldn't really think of a title for this post so I decided to just states the dates lol. Last week Jamin and I went to Focus on the Family with our friends Sonya and Nathan. I just got done reading Bringing Up Boys which was written by the Founder of Focus on the Family, Dr. James Dobson. Although Focus on the Family is a place I would hear about while growing up, I really didn't know a lot about it. My friend Sonya went to their Institute and so our trip planning began to go visit it! Group picture after taking the tour We can never get a great shot of the boys lol These were taken in their really awesome play area! Love this picture! Stroller parking!!! A smile that makes my heart melt everytime! Jamin and Nathan Mommy was way too big for this little boat lol Silly faces  We also went to the zoo with Sonya and Nathan last week. Here are a few pictures! We even go the moose in the picture! Jamin got scared of the big hippo :( ...

Road Trip Part 5

Monday morning rolled around and we decided to make our way from Bozeman down to the West Yellowstone Entrance. The drive was amazingly gorgeous!  Just driving in Harvey!  We made it to West Yellowstone but were turned away from two different RV parks because of the amount of kids we had with us. This was the first time I have ever felt looked down upon and discriminated against. I literally had one man ripped a piece of paper out of my hands because he didn't even want to consider letting that many people stay in his park. I explained to him that they are all young and well behaved kids but apparently he has had way too many bad experiences with kids. We didn't let it get us down though. We finally found one that didn't have any concerns letting 4 adults come in with 5 kiddos. The place was actually brand new and the closest RV park to the west Yellowstone entrance so we really lucked out!!! After we got checked in we decided to go into the park ...
