This is a hard post for me because even though it is months later, it brings back all the feelings from that day/night. I guess, I can say it started earlier in the day when we went to Happy Apple Farm. Landin was not himself. My car said it was 101 degrees outside but it may have been cooler than that. Despite the heat, Landin kept complaining that he was cold. Normally he would be all about running around on a farm and picking fresh berries and apples but he just wasn't feeling it that day. He spent most of the time in our stroller. Throughout the day he ended up taking 4 short interrupted naps...he feel asleep in the car a few times. Again, just an off day. That evening, I went out to ice cream with some friends and Kyle took the boys swimming. After, they came to pick me up and again he was sleeping. As we got home and were taking him out of the car, he began to shake, starting on his left side and then moving to his whole body. I was bringing the other boys in so I did not see this part. Our friend, Kevin, who was staying with us was the one who brought him in. After he laid Landin down in his bed, I went in to kiss him goodnight and noticed him wide eyed but unresponsive. I tried to 'wake' him for a couple minutes but he did not respond to me. I went to go get Kyle and we tried again for a few minutes to get Landin to 'come to'. He began to move his lips but nothing more. After 5 or 6 minutes, he finally was able to start moving but was very confused. We made him walk to the couch and then he became extremely tired and would not come out of his sleep for more than a second or two. We decided to call the doctor because we had suspected that it may have been a seizure. After our phone call, we were sent to the ER to get him checked out. Landin's body was so tired from the seizure that even moving him in and out of the car and getting checked out in the ER did not wake him. The triage nurse and doctor thought it was a febrile seizure that he had had but after getting into the ER room the doctor there thought otherwise because he never had a fever and the shaking started on one side of his body, indicated it started in a specific spot versus a generalized seizure. After hours of tests and waiting, he was admitted. It took him 5 hours to really come out of his exhausted state but he eventually came around, thankfully after they put the IV in him. We stayed the night and they did a few more tests to make sure there was no immediate danger. The staff was amazing and our whole experience was amazing despite the reasons for being in there. We were sent home with orders to follow up with a neurologist and were given instructions on how to administer his emergency medication in case he were to ever have another seizure that length/size again (normal seizures last 15-30 seconds and his was 5-6 minutes). It's crazy to look back at this now (end of Deccember 2015)....I'll explain in more detail in later posts but he did get diagnosed with Epilepsy.....more to come.

In the morning, we got some puzzles they had and played some games to keep busy while we waited for more testing and doctors to come in.

He REALLY enjoyed his breakfast lol
Getting his EEG test. It took about a half hour to put all the sensors on...he was a really good boy and very patient with the help of daddy's phone :)

| No phone during testing....just quiet testing and performing random tasks like hyperventilating and looking into flashing lights. |
