Landin Graduates from the ENT!!!!

Landin has had a long journey with the Ear Nose and Throat doctor. Between the ages of 6 months and 11 months old, he had 8 ear infections. So at 11 months old, he had tubes placed in his hear. Around 18 months to 2 years old our pediatrician noticed him breathing only out of his mouth. So, we started seeing the ENT doctor every 2-3 months to see why he was having breathing issues. I can remember being pregnant with Dylin and not being able to go in with Landin to get x-rays. He was so scared and crying and screaming :(. The x-rays showed that he had enlarged adenoids. The doctor wanted to surgically remove them and re-do his tubes that were broken. At the time, I was very pregnant and so we decided to hold off until he was a little older. He began nasal steroids at that point. His ear tubes fell out when he was about 2.5 years old but our pediatrician and ENT doctor would always tell us that he has A LOT of ear wax in his ears and they couldn't see any of his ear drum. After his tubes fell out he blew an ear drum. So at that point we were going in every week or so until it was healed. We were also getting his hearing checked. He was always borderline fail/pass. At each appointment, our ENT would try to get all the wax out of Landin's ears, even strapped him down (talk about horrifying for Landin) and was always unsuccessful. We continued with the nasal steroids 2x per day and added a mineral oil 1x per day to help with the ear wax.  We didn't love our ENT doctor...he is good at being a surgeon and is good at doing what he does, BUT his bedside manner wasn't the greatest. I can remember bringing Kyle to an appointment and as we were leaving the office, Kyle joked saying sarcastically, 'real nice guy' lol. We later found out that office had a PA. So, at the next appointment, we requested her and it was a way better experience...sort of. She was determined to get all that ear wax out and after 30 minutes of Kyle holding Landin in his lap (think of a big bear hug while our little 3 year old squirmed and fighted...yah, Kyle was pretty sweaty at the end), she was able to pull and suck all that ear wax out!!! Shockingly, it still had his tubes stuck in it that had fallen out of his ear drum almost a year and a half ago...super gross. After that whole ordeal, Landin went in for his hearing test and passed! He still had negative pressure but the PA thought it was from her pulling everything out.
We just had our 2 month follow up appointment from Landin getting his ear wax out, and his pressure was good and we got the okay to slowly get him off of the nasal steroids and just use them as needed! The best part was not having to make a follow-up appointment as we walked out! Wahoo!!!

Wonderful little company!

Yesterday I had the honor to watch Nathan. Nathan's parents are Matt and Sonya, friends from our small group at church. We had a blast all afternoon. Both the boys didn't take naps so I thought it was going to be a rough afternoon but I think they got energy from one another. I was nervous for dinner time too but they both did great. Both ate like champs...even ate their vegetables!  I put these two to work right away lol Busy building something great! We went outside for a bit. It was hard to keep these two together in the front so we headed out back! Nathan loved exploring! Showing me a sweet rock that he found! Jamin exploring too! Wondering where he should go next. There are so many things to see in our backyard  The boys looking at the rocks and weeds lol Nathan showing Jamin the treasure (weed) that he found! We played on the swings for a while too. One would be in this swing while I held the other in the other swing! (Sorry my...

I couldn't really think of a title for this post so I decided to just states the dates lol. Last week Jamin and I went to Focus on the Family with our friends Sonya and Nathan. I just got done reading Bringing Up Boys which was written by the Founder of Focus on the Family, Dr. James Dobson. Although Focus on the Family is a place I would hear about while growing up, I really didn't know a lot about it. My friend Sonya went to their Institute and so our trip planning began to go visit it! Group picture after taking the tour We can never get a great shot of the boys lol These were taken in their really awesome play area! Love this picture! Stroller parking!!! A smile that makes my heart melt everytime! Jamin and Nathan Mommy was way too big for this little boat lol Silly faces  We also went to the zoo with Sonya and Nathan last week. Here are a few pictures! We even go the moose in the picture! Jamin got scared of the big hippo :( ...

Road Trip Part 5

Monday morning rolled around and we decided to make our way from Bozeman down to the West Yellowstone Entrance. The drive was amazingly gorgeous!  Just driving in Harvey!  We made it to West Yellowstone but were turned away from two different RV parks because of the amount of kids we had with us. This was the first time I have ever felt looked down upon and discriminated against. I literally had one man ripped a piece of paper out of my hands because he didn't even want to consider letting that many people stay in his park. I explained to him that they are all young and well behaved kids but apparently he has had way too many bad experiences with kids. We didn't let it get us down though. We finally found one that didn't have any concerns letting 4 adults come in with 5 kiddos. The place was actually brand new and the closest RV park to the west Yellowstone entrance so we really lucked out!!! After we got checked in we decided to go into the park ...
