February School Time

I don't post a lot about our homeschooling because we are usually so busy during that time that I forget to grab my camera. We are still doing preschool at home with Jamin and Landin likes to participate so I will put together so coordinating coloring sheets and games for him. We try to do it during Dylin's nap so we have less interuptions. It is still going well and we are loving learning and exploring!

I try to have a sensory bin out at least once per week. The boys really love them. They usually start out with educational items in there like letters or letter related activities but they ALWAYS end up like the pictures below. The boys can't help but grab tractors and get to digging! I've also enjoyed seeing Dylin get in on this time too! I need to get a bigger sensory bin lol.

Dumping noodles on each other

I get a lot of my fun messy activities from pinterest or '150+ Screen-free Activities for Kids' book. This one is homemade moon sand....it was super easy to make but warning, it was super messy. Jamin played in it for 2 hours straight though so well worth the clean up. So much imaginary play goes on when we do things like this! He is my creative/artistic son though!

This week we learned all about the letter R! Here the boys are listening to 'Somewhere over the Rainbow' and making rainbows and using the props that go along with the song. It was very sweet to hear their little voices sing along to this song...they liked the Hawaiian version better though!

Dyling observing :)

And of course...things have to get messy at the end!

A fun shapes game we play! This is great for the end of the lesson because the boys can jump, run and play and get all those stored up wiggles out from having to sit still for school lol.
Painting our rainbows! I tried to make it a little harder for the boys to work on their fine motor skills. I used a cotton ball and clothespin for their paintbrush!

Wonderful little company!

Yesterday I had the honor to watch Nathan. Nathan's parents are Matt and Sonya, friends from our small group at church. We had a blast all afternoon. Both the boys didn't take naps so I thought it was going to be a rough afternoon but I think they got energy from one another. I was nervous for dinner time too but they both did great. Both ate like champs...even ate their vegetables!  I put these two to work right away lol Busy building something great! We went outside for a bit. It was hard to keep these two together in the front so we headed out back! Nathan loved exploring! Showing me a sweet rock that he found! Jamin exploring too! Wondering where he should go next. There are so many things to see in our backyard  The boys looking at the rocks and weeds lol Nathan showing Jamin the treasure (weed) that he found! We played on the swings for a while too. One would be in this swing while I held the other in the other swing! (Sorry my...

4/20-4/24

I couldn't really think of a title for this post so I decided to just states the dates lol. Last week Jamin and I went to Focus on the Family with our friends Sonya and Nathan. I just got done reading Bringing Up Boys which was written by the Founder of Focus on the Family, Dr. James Dobson. Although Focus on the Family is a place I would hear about while growing up, I really didn't know a lot about it. My friend Sonya went to their Institute and so our trip planning began to go visit it! Group picture after taking the tour We can never get a great shot of the boys lol These were taken in their really awesome play area! Love this picture! Stroller parking!!! A smile that makes my heart melt everytime! Jamin and Nathan Mommy was way too big for this little boat lol Silly faces  We also went to the zoo with Sonya and Nathan last week. Here are a few pictures! We even go the moose in the picture! Jamin got scared of the big hippo :( ...

Road Trip Part 5

Monday morning rolled around and we decided to make our way from Bozeman down to the West Yellowstone Entrance. The drive was amazingly gorgeous!  Just driving in Harvey!  We made it to West Yellowstone but were turned away from two different RV parks because of the amount of kids we had with us. This was the first time I have ever felt looked down upon and discriminated against. I literally had one man ripped a piece of paper out of my hands because he didn't even want to consider letting that many people stay in his park. I explained to him that they are all young and well behaved kids but apparently he has had way too many bad experiences with kids. We didn't let it get us down though. We finally found one that didn't have any concerns letting 4 adults come in with 5 kiddos. The place was actually brand new and the closest RV park to the west Yellowstone entrance so we really lucked out!!! After we got checked in we decided to go into the park ...
