In October, Landin's neurology appointment went really well. Our Neurologist just wanted to have blood work done on Landin because a lot of kids on high fat diets can develop kidney and liver issues. Thankfully, the fats he eats everyday are not the typical ketogenic diet fats like cream and butter. Landin, instead, has olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil and nuts. It works out really well for him and the labs showed that he was completely normal in all areas....his lab requests were two pages long so that's a lot of normal labs! The down side was having to take him in and get all that blood drawn :(. Right before his appointment, I took him to get a comfort stuffed animal that I knew he had been wanting for a while. He actually spent his own money to buy it! Go Landin! It took him a while to save up for it but he still is in love with it! I am so thankful that Kyle was able to meet us at the appointment because I don't know if i would have been able to hold him down. We tried to prepare him for the pain but I know that it was going to be scary, no matter how much we talked to him about it. Landin is doing really well with eating a very natural diet that is a mix between a ketogenic and paleo diet! We also let him have 1 'cheat' meal a week where he can have something like a sandwich with regular bread or chicken nuggets from Chick Fil A. He has been seizure free since May and our Neurologist said that he only needs to see him back once a year!!!!
Landin wanted me to take pictures so he could show his brothers how brave he was!
After blood work, Landin was EXHAUSTED! I tried waking him up several times in the car but he wanted to rest.
We waited nearly an hour in Samsclub parking lot for Landin to wake up so we could get some groceries.
