Advent Day 1-6

Yay! I have made it to December! It only took me 7 months to figure out how to get photos and videos off my phone and SD card. For some reason, once I switched phones in March, I have not been able to get anything off of it. I am finally caught up!

Advent Day 1: Decorate it! We put up all three Christmas trees and decorated them! The boys also received this years ornaments!

We have a light issue...we got most of them to work!

Landin putting up the star!

The boys putting up a tree in Jamin's room!

The most beautifully done Advent Calendar! This is our 3rd year doing this one! This person did such an amazing job putting this together! We love every day of it! I wish she still made them because all the money she made each year went to a cause or charity!

I splurged this year and got the boys some fun advent toy boxes! They wake up really early every morning and go straight to these!

Advent Day 2: Adorn it. We hung our stockings today. We also talked about what Kyle and I had in our stocking growing up and also called Kyle's grandparents to see what they got in their stockings growing up. They grew up during the depression and would get nuts and fruit in their stockings!

Advent Day 3: Sacrifice it. This day we asked the boys to pray about how our family could sacrifice our time to help someone out today. We thought of Kyle's grandparents. After church, we went over there and raked leaves, picked up dog poo and Kyle cleaned out their gutters. The boys did great, even with the poo!
Advent Day 4: Tell it. This day we set out our Nativity set and talked about the story of Christmas! This is the first year I put out my grandma's set. The boys know they are not allowed to touch it because it is very old and very fragile. They are just fine with their Veggie Tales Nativity set being next to it!

Advent Day 5: Light it. This day we turned on all the Christmas lights and shared stories of our favorite Christmas traditions, memories and gifts. It was fun to go around the table and hear what the boys remember!

Advent Day 6: Wear it! The boys got their new socks! It's so fun to see how much they remember from previous years and knew that they were going to get socks.

Road Trip Part 5

Monday morning rolled around and we decided to make our way from Bozeman down to the West Yellowstone Entrance. The drive was amazingly gorgeous!  Just driving in Harvey!  We made it to West Yellowstone but were turned away from two different RV parks because of the amount of kids we had with us. This was the first time I have ever felt looked down upon and discriminated against. I literally had one man ripped a piece of paper out of my hands because he didn't even want to consider letting that many people stay in his park. I explained to him that they are all young and well behaved kids but apparently he has had way too many bad experiences with kids. We didn't let it get us down though. We finally found one that didn't have any concerns letting 4 adults come in with 5 kiddos. The place was actually brand new and the closest RV park to the west Yellowstone entrance so we really lucked out!!! After we got checked in we decided to go into the park ...
