Jamin starts Pre-K

It's crazy to see this post now a month later because already Jamin has made so many amazing improvements! We started homeschooling Jamin in preschool at the beginning of September. He really enjoys learning! He excels in letter and number recognition and struggles with patterns and colors. Both the boys love getting their work boxes out every morning and seeing what surprises are inside each box. Every day they ask me 'when are we going to do school again?'. I made a 'tot school' workbox system for Landin so that he could start to be introduced and exposed to things but he won't be starting pre-school until next year. We plan on having Jamin do two years of pre school because we felt he needed extra time and it was also more for me to learn his learning style and get myself organized. We have been enjoying the curriculum so far. Jamin learns a letter, color, number, Bible verse and sight word each week. All of the activities, games and crafts are centered around the Bible verse and story that goes with it. We are about to finish up our fifth week of school and Jamin has really surprised me with his scripture memorization. Not to mention LANDIN!!! He has memorized all of the verses too just by wanting to do everything Big Brother is doing and listening in! I have really loved all the time we continue to have together with homeschooling. It has been such a blessing that I can stay home with my children and learn and grow with them!

Starting out with Calendar time!

This is the pose Jamin wanted to do for his first day of school picture lol

Working on some fine motor skills with a little q-tip painting

concentrating very hard!

Landin joining in and painting the big L and little l

This is our school board. We go over this every morning along with calendar time and the story that goes along with the verse

Last year when Jamin and I would do crafts or projects, he loved having them up on a board so that he could show daddy when he got home. I put up these boards to some of his work from the week so that he can show daddy!

Landin's boards!
One of the best parts of homeschool- eating a snack while sitting on the floor and doing school lol

Some more fine motor practice!

Wonderful little company!

Yesterday I had the honor to watch Nathan. Nathan's parents are Matt and Sonya, friends from our small group at church. We had a blast all afternoon. Both the boys didn't take naps so I thought it was going to be a rough afternoon but I think they got energy from one another. I was nervous for dinner time too but they both did great. Both ate like champs...even ate their vegetables!  I put these two to work right away lol Busy building something great! We went outside for a bit. It was hard to keep these two together in the front so we headed out back! Nathan loved exploring! Showing me a sweet rock that he found! Jamin exploring too! Wondering where he should go next. There are so many things to see in our backyard  The boys looking at the rocks and weeds lol Nathan showing Jamin the treasure (weed) that he found! We played on the swings for a while too. One would be in this swing while I held the other in the other swing! (Sorry my...

4/20-4/24

I couldn't really think of a title for this post so I decided to just states the dates lol. Last week Jamin and I went to Focus on the Family with our friends Sonya and Nathan. I just got done reading Bringing Up Boys which was written by the Founder of Focus on the Family, Dr. James Dobson. Although Focus on the Family is a place I would hear about while growing up, I really didn't know a lot about it. My friend Sonya went to their Institute and so our trip planning began to go visit it! Group picture after taking the tour We can never get a great shot of the boys lol These were taken in their really awesome play area! Love this picture! Stroller parking!!! A smile that makes my heart melt everytime! Jamin and Nathan Mommy was way too big for this little boat lol Silly faces  We also went to the zoo with Sonya and Nathan last week. Here are a few pictures! We even go the moose in the picture! Jamin got scared of the big hippo :( ...

Road Trip Part 5

Monday morning rolled around and we decided to make our way from Bozeman down to the West Yellowstone Entrance. The drive was amazingly gorgeous!  Just driving in Harvey!  We made it to West Yellowstone but were turned away from two different RV parks because of the amount of kids we had with us. This was the first time I have ever felt looked down upon and discriminated against. I literally had one man ripped a piece of paper out of my hands because he didn't even want to consider letting that many people stay in his park. I explained to him that they are all young and well behaved kids but apparently he has had way too many bad experiences with kids. We didn't let it get us down though. We finally found one that didn't have any concerns letting 4 adults come in with 5 kiddos. The place was actually brand new and the closest RV park to the west Yellowstone entrance so we really lucked out!!! After we got checked in we decided to go into the park ...
