Easter preparation and Easter Part 1

This year I felt Jamin was more at an age that we could really start to dig into what Jesus was all about. I wanted to start early so that he was able to remember this day for more than just eggs and candy. Last year I had made Easter Resurrection Eggs but this year I decided to buy a couple from Family Christian. We started 12 days before Easter and opened one egg each day. We also read the story that went along with what we found inside and then talked about what it means and how it all ties into Easter.

One day hit especially hard for Jamin and tears followed with both Kyle and I. When we talked about the whip and how it was used, you could see Jamin start to understand what happened to Jesus. After reading the story, Jamin kept still and silent and you could see on his face that he was trying to process it all. He kept asking why the people were hurting Jesus like that. He then began to weep a little as we explained why. It began to hit Kyle and I really hard too and we sat there and wept for that day and everything Jesus went through for us. It was a very special moment. We are so thankful for His ultimate sacrifice so that we are set free and saved today. Thank you Jesus.

Jamin and Landin  did all the glueing and placing the cotton balls

The finished product. I found the idea on pinterest and they turned out so cute!
Saturday before Easter we hosted my family! We typically go to the rec center by our house for an Easter egg hunt but since the number of cousins keep growing and they are all in different age groups we decided we didn't want to wait the 90 minutes outside in the cold...so we put our time and energy into doing one in our backyard. It was awesome and something I think we will continue for many years!

 The great hunt!

Landin was more interested in playing lol

The guys got really serious hiding the eggs...good thing Jamin is little lol

Landin's one egg that he decided to keep and eat the candy out of.

That night we as a family of 4 (5 with the baby in my belly lol) decorated eggs. I thought it would be fun to try the shaving cream method I found on pinterest. I mainly chose this way because I totally spaced buying the dye kits for eggs and we already had everything we needed to try the shaving cream method. The boys had a lot of fun but in hind sight I realized the eggs probably weren't edible so we didn't get to enjoy eating them lol.
My big helper...always trying to do what he can to help clean or wash things.

Jamin chose bronco colors...of course :)

I also made a new treat this year...Easter Bunny Chow. It's a version of puppy chow but with peanut m&ms, white chocolate and puffins cereal.

My fantastic little helpers

They also make great sample testers

Jamin wanted a HUGE bite!

All done!

Hey who's hand is that....no touching ;)

I caught you...it's a good thing you're so handsome! Kyle always has to test it out too....he approved!

More Easter fun to come...

Wonderful little company!

Yesterday I had the honor to watch Nathan. Nathan's parents are Matt and Sonya, friends from our small group at church. We had a blast all afternoon. Both the boys didn't take naps so I thought it was going to be a rough afternoon but I think they got energy from one another. I was nervous for dinner time too but they both did great. Both ate like champs...even ate their vegetables!  I put these two to work right away lol Busy building something great! We went outside for a bit. It was hard to keep these two together in the front so we headed out back! Nathan loved exploring! Showing me a sweet rock that he found! Jamin exploring too! Wondering where he should go next. There are so many things to see in our backyard  The boys looking at the rocks and weeds lol Nathan showing Jamin the treasure (weed) that he found! We played on the swings for a while too. One would be in this swing while I held the other in the other swing! (Sorry my...

I couldn't really think of a title for this post so I decided to just states the dates lol. Last week Jamin and I went to Focus on the Family with our friends Sonya and Nathan. I just got done reading Bringing Up Boys which was written by the Founder of Focus on the Family, Dr. James Dobson. Although Focus on the Family is a place I would hear about while growing up, I really didn't know a lot about it. My friend Sonya went to their Institute and so our trip planning began to go visit it! Group picture after taking the tour We can never get a great shot of the boys lol These were taken in their really awesome play area! Love this picture! Stroller parking!!! A smile that makes my heart melt everytime! Jamin and Nathan Mommy was way too big for this little boat lol Silly faces  We also went to the zoo with Sonya and Nathan last week. Here are a few pictures! We even go the moose in the picture! Jamin got scared of the big hippo :( ...

Road Trip Part 5

Monday morning rolled around and we decided to make our way from Bozeman down to the West Yellowstone Entrance. The drive was amazingly gorgeous!  Just driving in Harvey!  We made it to West Yellowstone but were turned away from two different RV parks because of the amount of kids we had with us. This was the first time I have ever felt looked down upon and discriminated against. I literally had one man ripped a piece of paper out of my hands because he didn't even want to consider letting that many people stay in his park. I explained to him that they are all young and well behaved kids but apparently he has had way too many bad experiences with kids. We didn't let it get us down though. We finally found one that didn't have any concerns letting 4 adults come in with 5 kiddos. The place was actually brand new and the closest RV park to the west Yellowstone entrance so we really lucked out!!! After we got checked in we decided to go into the park ...
