Mother's Day 2014

I have been really wanting to take a trip up to Fort Collins so Kyle and I decided that mother's day weekend would be perfect. We wanted to take the RV so we got HaRVey all ready and headed up that way Friday before Mother's Day.
Before we left we went to go drop off flowers, cards and our gifts for our moms. I made a 'Grandkids' photo holder for both moms. The one above it for Kyle's mom....11 grandkids so far!
Ready to go!

Landin is loving the ride!
We wanted to see our friends Tyler and Megan before we went to Fort Collins. So we met them for dinner in Thronton where they live and then stayed to hang out with them for the night. We still slept in the RV that night which was a good idea in some aspects but not in others. In the middle of the night I heard some guys talking outside the RV. I figured they were just heading home or walking by but then I heard one of them trying to open the side door of the RV. Then I heard them trying to open the driver door. Thankfully both were locked but then one got on the roof to try to break into the RV. By that point I knew they were determined to get in so I woke up Kyle and told him that some guys were trying to break into the RV. We both jumped up. I started banging on the ceiling to try to scare them away but Kyle (with a broken back) got out of the RV and chased the three guys down....literally. He caught them trying to drive away and when he opened their car door, I'm pretty sure they were scared at that point. Kyle began to ask them why they were trying to break in and why they were on our roof. They began to apologize and offered to fix anything that was broken. We realized that these 3 guys were most likely young college students and scared out of their minds so Kyle told them to get out of there and slammed their door. There was so much adrenaline rushing through both of us so we stayed up for a while afterwards to make sure no one came back. We considered going to a Walmart parking lot but decided to stay out front of Tyler and Megan's house. It is funny that we were joking with them that night before that we might need to leave in the middle of the night for some reason....we almost did lol.  It was a crazy night in the RV but I have come to expect crazy adventures from HaRVey!
Malachi waiting for daddy and the boys to wake up the next morning lol
Getting all ready to make the last little trek up to Fort Collins. On the highway we lost a side mirror so we had to stop and pick up another one.

We lost the bubble mirror that sits on top.

My handsome boy watching his daddy

Hi Malachi!
Yay! All ready to go now!
 Give me your best CHEESE!

We drove up to the Poudre River to throw some rocks and play in the water before the storm rolled in.

Malachi had to jump in
Daddy trying to teach the boys how to skip rocks

Of course with boys you have to play in the mud...
Long jumping into the wet sand/dirt....

My silly!

Digging and rolling around in the dirt....

The boys decided they wanted to make a slide in the dirt by scooting their booties down the hill...

One dirty bottom
 Lunch by the river!

That evening we went to one of our favorites...Raising Canes! So yummy! and then headed to the drive in.
I had made prior arrangements with the drive in because I was unsure if they would allow the RV in. They were very accommodating and made the comment that we were the biggest or second biggest vehicle to come to their drive in lol.
The boys got all set up on the dash board. It was a perfect size for them to make little beds and lay down to watch the movie!
While we were waiting for it to get dark I took a few pictures of the boys in the RV while Kyle finished working on a few things outside of Harvey.

Harvey at his first drive in!
Kyle being silly entertaining the boys!

Going for a walk...

Time for the movie to start!!!!

After the movies we headed over to Walmart for the night. You can park free there for a night so we took advantage of that! During the night the frost/storm rolled in. Everyone now believes that our family is cursed with bad weather when we take the RV because snow always hits when we have it.

Waking up the next morning....

We got some breakfast at Qdoba and decided to head home. It was an awesome and adventurous mother's day weekend! I loved spending so much time with just my boys! Despite the weather, it was very relaxing and I would love to do it again and again!

Wonderful little company!

Yesterday I had the honor to watch Nathan. Nathan's parents are Matt and Sonya, friends from our small group at church. We had a blast all afternoon. Both the boys didn't take naps so I thought it was going to be a rough afternoon but I think they got energy from one another. I was nervous for dinner time too but they both did great. Both ate like champs...even ate their vegetables!  I put these two to work right away lol Busy building something great! We went outside for a bit. It was hard to keep these two together in the front so we headed out back! Nathan loved exploring! Showing me a sweet rock that he found! Jamin exploring too! Wondering where he should go next. There are so many things to see in our backyard  The boys looking at the rocks and weeds lol Nathan showing Jamin the treasure (weed) that he found! We played on the swings for a while too. One would be in this swing while I held the other in the other swing! (Sorry my...

4/20-4/24

I couldn't really think of a title for this post so I decided to just states the dates lol. Last week Jamin and I went to Focus on the Family with our friends Sonya and Nathan. I just got done reading Bringing Up Boys which was written by the Founder of Focus on the Family, Dr. James Dobson. Although Focus on the Family is a place I would hear about while growing up, I really didn't know a lot about it. My friend Sonya went to their Institute and so our trip planning began to go visit it! Group picture after taking the tour We can never get a great shot of the boys lol These were taken in their really awesome play area! Love this picture! Stroller parking!!! A smile that makes my heart melt everytime! Jamin and Nathan Mommy was way too big for this little boat lol Silly faces  We also went to the zoo with Sonya and Nathan last week. Here are a few pictures! We even go the moose in the picture! Jamin got scared of the big hippo :( ...

Road Trip Part 5

Monday morning rolled around and we decided to make our way from Bozeman down to the West Yellowstone Entrance. The drive was amazingly gorgeous!  Just driving in Harvey!  We made it to West Yellowstone but were turned away from two different RV parks because of the amount of kids we had with us. This was the first time I have ever felt looked down upon and discriminated against. I literally had one man ripped a piece of paper out of my hands because he didn't even want to consider letting that many people stay in his park. I explained to him that they are all young and well behaved kids but apparently he has had way too many bad experiences with kids. We didn't let it get us down though. We finally found one that didn't have any concerns letting 4 adults come in with 5 kiddos. The place was actually brand new and the closest RV park to the west Yellowstone entrance so we really lucked out!!! After we got checked in we decided to go into the park ...
